Assistance and tickets for passengers with limited mobility

How to purchase tickets and request the Assistance Service.

  • Seat purchase for Reduced Mobility Passenger can be made by calling Pronto Italo +39 06 07 08, operating daily from 7 am to 11 pm. There is no additional fee for the sales service.
    In case of intermodal transportation (Italo + Itabus), it is necessary for the traveler with a disability or reduced mobility to inform Italo of his or her needs by contacting Pronto Italo at 060708 no later than 36 hours before the scheduled departure of the entire trip, in order to prepare the coach for safe transportation.
  • At the station, dedicated staff from RFI - Rete Ferroviaria Italiana will wait for travelers with disabilities or reduced mobility at the meeting point agreed upon when booking through the Pronto Italo contact center at +39 06 07 08, at least 30 minutes before the departure time.
  • Aboard Italo trains there are priority seats dedicated to travelers with reduced mobility, located near the mobility-impaired toilet. In addition, on Italo AGV carriage 8 is equipped with 2 seats dedicated to travelers in wheelchairs, while for Italo EVO trains you will find 2 equipped seats in carriage 3.

    The dimensions of the wheelchair must not exceed the standards set by the relevant European regulations: width mm 700, depth mm 1200, height mm 1090. The fully loaded weight must not exceed 300 kg.

    Once the chair reaches the reserved seat, it must be secured with the brakes it has. The seats are located near the toilet for travelers with mobility disabilities.

    All toilets also have signage for the blind, and the seats numbering is also in Braille.
  • A dedicated seat for wheelchair users is available aboard Itabus double-decker coaches, located near the rear boarding door.

    The dimensions of the wheelchair must not exceed the standards set by the relevant European regulations: width mm 700, depth mm 1200, height mm 1090. The fully loaded weight must not exceed 300 kg.

    The wheelchair must have safety attachment points (so-called force nodes) in accordance with DIN 75078-2, as well as a manufacturer's approval in accordance with DIN EN 12183 and/or 12184.
